About the Role

Are you frustrated with the typical business development role? Tired of unrealistic quotas? At The Winters Group, we are more interested in quality over quantity. We are looking for a director of Business Development who is excited to thoughtfully and intentionally grow the business by finding the right opportunities through researching leads, establishing solid relationships with potential clients, writing proposals that inspire and connect, and closing long term business contracts. This role will be pivotal in building long-standing and successful relationships with clients. The Director of Business Development will:

  • Monitor all new client inquiries

  • Conduct company and industry research

  • Spearhead prospective client meetings and presentations and present The Winters Group qualifications

  • Provide written proposals and Statement of Work responses to RFPs and/or as a result of prospective client conversations

  • Be responsible for ensuring new client information is properly entered into CRM

  • Manage pipeline and pipeline reporting in CRM

  • Conduct outbound vertical marketing/ABM campaigns

  • Develop phone/email/meeting scripts for demand generation

  • Ensure a successful project handoff to internal team


Job requirements

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of previous experience working in a sales/business development role for a consultant or service provider

  • An understanding of DEIJ work, trends in the field, and client needs

  • Must be comfortable having meetings with company Vice Presidents and higher roles

  • Experience with Hubspot/CRM and ZOHO is a plus

  • Strong project management skills

  • Knowledge of sales life cycle

  • Self-motivated and committed to creating excellent experiences

  • Proven ability to generate new business, establish genuine rapport with people, and build client relationships

Position type: Regular, full-time, exempt

Start date: Ideally by May 2

Position compensation: $100,000 - $110,000

Position Location: This is a remote position, but the employee must be based in the U.S.

We are growing with intention and, as a result, this position is salaried. We don’t work with quotas or measure on new business won and feel it would not be fair to compensate using a base + commission model.
